The STA once again led a contingent of Spackenkill faculty, support staff, and students picking up a section of Route 9 on April 9th. The STA 'adopted' the section of Route 9 between the Olive Garden and Spackenkill Road as part of the state's "Adopt a Highway" program and picks it up from time to time.

The 'pick up crew' collected 26 huge bags of trash from the two-mile stretch of Route 9 between the Spackenkill overpass and Olive Garden. The volunteers got some good exercise and had fun getting the road ready for the spring mowing. The STA might get all the credit on the highway signs, but it is the collective efforts of Spackenkill teachers, staff, and students that makes the difference for the environment.

STA Walk/Run Held on April 25th

Thanks to all who walked/ran the Third Annual 5K on Sunday, April 25th. Despite the rain we had a good turnout which raised money for graduating Spackenkill seniors. Congratulations go out to Billy Hild, who was the men's winner with a time of 17:54, and Luisa Neves, who was the women's winner with a time of 21:06.
