STA Walk/Run
to be Held on May 7th
The
Fourth Annual STA 5K Walk/Run is set for Saturday,
May 7th at the high school. The 5K starts at
9 o'clock, with a Half-Mile Kids Run at 8:30.
Registration is $20 for the 5K and $10 for
the kids run with all proceeds going to the
the STA scholarship fund for graduating seniors.
Those
who pre-register for the 5K are guarenteed
a 'goodie' bag with a t-shirt (pre-registration
is recommended). To preregister please download

'Spring Cleaning'
- STA Picks Up Route 9
| The
STA once again led a contingent of Spackenkill
faculty, support staff, and students picking up
a section of Route 9 on April 9th. The STA 'adopted'
the section of Route 9 between the Olive Garden
and Spackenkill Road as part of the state's "Adopt
a Highway" program and picks it up from time
to time. |

The
'pick up crew' collected 26 huge bags of trash from
the two-mile stretch of Route 9 between the Spackenkill
overpass and Olive Garden. The volunteers got some
good exercise and had fun getting the road ready for
the spring mowing. The STA might get all the credit
on the highway signs, but it is the collective efforts
of Spackenkill teachers, staff, and students that makes
the difference for the environment.
